About Me

dean-iodiceWelcome to EatingGreat.net, I developed a love for health and fitness because in a very short period of time it’s totally changed the way I feel. I went from feeling sick and bloated to being full of energy. I guess what inspired me the most was the hit TV show “The Biggest Loser”. I never watched this show before and recently decided to give it a shot on Netflix. I became so inspired by the contestants on it. Now I was by no means at the same weight as the people on the show, but I was over weight and feeling bad all the time. I figured if they could do it I could do it to.

My biggest problem was I always start a diet and never really follow through. I went out and bought the book “The 17 Day Diet” one Friday after work. Read it cover to cover over that weekend and started Monday morning. I’ve shed about 9 pounds in the first 17 days. I’m not quite at my target weight yet, I want to drop another 7. The best thing about it is I feel better, I feel like I’m going to live longer and that takes a load of stress off of me.

I’m actually writing this on day 17 of the 17 Day Diet and have to report that I have no urges to cheat or fall off the wagon. I’m finding new foods to satisfy myself and actually feel sick when even thinking of pizza and hamburgers.

I’m also using this site as a tool to keep me going on my diet and get to my goal weight of 180lbs. Our country is struggling with obesity, it’s sad that we are the most over weight country in the world. McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, all these fat causing companies are just advertising their poison to our children every single day, tempting them with toys and candy. It’s like offering drugs to a drug addict.

If we as a nation can educate ourselves better about the foods we put in our bodies, then we will all be better in the end. I hope my website inspires you to take action towards a happier and healthier lifestyle.

As I sit here in my kitchen writing this post I’m enjoying a bowl of sausage and peppers that I just prepared. Made with extra lean turkey sausage, onions, bell peppers and a touch of tomato sauce this might be one of the best dishes I have ever prepared. There is a healthy alternative for any dish, it just requires a little creativity.
